  • What is the best time to go on a safari in Kaziranga?

The best time to go on a safari in North East India is generally during the winter months (November to February) when the weather is cooler and drier, and the animals are more active. However, the best time to visit can vary depending on your specific interests like photography or birdwatching; so it's best to check with us and we can plan your dream safari holiday.

  • What animals can I expect to spot in Kaziranga?

Kaziranga is one of the most biodiverse regions of the country. You can expect to spot the mighty Bengal tigers, Indian rhinoceros, also called greater one-horned rhinoceros, elephants, water buffalos, Hoolock gibbons, assam macaques, capped & golden langur, swamp & hog deers among other species of deers. The park is also home to a wide variety of bird species, making it an incredible destination for birdwatchers.

  • What should I bring on safari?

It's recommended to bring comfortable clothing that can handle the outdoor elements, as well as sturdy shoes, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, binoculars and a camera. It's also important to respect the environment and wildlife, so avoid bringing plastic or non-biodegradable items on your safari.

  • How many days/safaris are good enough to have a good chance of spotting different wildlife?

Minimum of three nights and 5 safaris are recommended in one national park. This not only allows you to have a good chance of spotting big cats and other wildlife but also to enjoy the overall experience this place has to offer.

  • Is it safe to go on a safari in an open jeep?

When you go on a safari, you are sharing the same space as wild animals and living in remote regions. Everything is untamed and unexpected. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t safe. From the moment you begin your safari, you’ll be given rules and guidelines that you’ll need to follow and listen to at all times. It’s about respecting your safari guide/naturalists, respecting the animals, and staying alert.

  • Can kids go on a safari?

Yes, kids can go on a safari! In fact, a family safaris is actually a very good idea. It's a great way to spend quality time together. Kids also get ample opportunities to learn about nature and all it has to offer. However, age and maturity are factors as safaris require sitting in a car for long durations, remaining calm and quiet, and simply following guidelines. While different lodges have different sets of rules for the minimum age of kids, most safari camps and lodges have specific activities planned for kids which can be engaging and fun!
